Lyrics for On Screen:
Verse 1
Here in this place new light is streaming,
now is the darkness vanished away,
see in this space our fears and our dreamings,
brought here to you in the light of this day.
Gather us in, the lost and forsaken,
gather us in, the blind and the lame;
call to us now, and we shall awaken,
we shall arise at the sound of our name.
Verse 4
Not in the dark of buildings confining,
not in some heaven light years away,
but here in this place the new light is shining,
now is the kingdom, now is the day.
Gather us in and hold us forever,
gather us in and make us your own;
gather us in, all peoples together,
fire of love in our flesh and our bones.

Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service
Words: Albert F Bayley
Music Attr. to B. F. White; harm. By Ronald A Nelson
Offered by Kurt Eisenmann, Vocals

Verse 1
Lord, whose love through humble service bore the weight of human need,
who upon the cross, forsaken, offered mercy’s perfect deed:
we, you servants, bring the worship not of voice alone, but heart,
consecrating to your purpose every gift that you impart.
Verse 4
Called by worship to your service, forth in your dear name we go
to the child, the youth, the aged, love in living deeds to shw;
hope and health, good will and comfort, Counsel, aid, and peace we give,
that your servants, Lord, in freedom may your mercy kow, and live.
Benediction: Go to let the wind move you...offered by Rev. Dan Schwerin.
Postlude: "Veni Creator Spiritus" by Jan Nieland offered by John Sheaffer, organ.
Study Notes: This is a study you could use during our “Safer at Home” time, or at other times during these days of change. It could be a meeting devotional, or a study for your lunch break. Maybe you could try this with your family, a group of friends, or with your own cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Review Acts 2:1-21
1. Why might a people who are concerned about a wholeness and salvation for everyone be counter-cultural now?
2. How is having both a streaming and in-person congregation going to require sacrifice for this mission?
3. What practices help you foster wholeness in your life?
Prayer Focus:
* Pray for those suffering with the pandemic in developing nations, especially India.
* Pray for an end to the violence between Israel and the Palestinians and new solutions for peace.
* Pray for the ministry of First UMC as it launches both/and ministry and transition.
