Theme: God Can Use a Searched Heart
Flowers Donated by: Joan Dehnel

The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Listeners and viewers please note:
In person worship is suspended until further notice. This is due to concern for the health of our congregation and staff related to the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19. Bishop Jung has recommended that Wisconsin Methodist Churches hold off on in-person worship for now as are many other churches in our community. We continue under CDC restrictions.
Best practices for safety were observed during the production of all worship service elements.

My gracious Master and my God,
assist me to proclaim,
to spread thro' all the earth abroad

that bids our sorrows cease;
'tis music in the sinner's ears,

anticipate your heaven below,
and own that love is heaven.

The task thy wisdom hath assigned,
O let me cheerfully fulfill;
in all my works thy presence find,
and prove thy good and perfect will.

For thee delightfully employ
what e’re thy bounteous grace hath given;
and run my course with even joy,
and closely walk with thee to heaven.

Study Notes: This is a study you could use during our “Safer at Home” time, or at other times during these days of change. It could be a meeting devotional, or a study for your lunch break. Maybe you could try this with your family, a group of friends, or with your own cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Review Acts 1:15-17, 21-26.
1. If an apostle is a messenger of the gospel, who makes the best kind of apostle?
2. What of your own personal preferences need to be set aside for the mission of FUMC?
3. How has God spoken to your losses in this pandemic--and how might you tell that story?

Prayer Focus:
* Pray for First UMC to come through the transition to both/and ministry with greater vitality.
* Pray for the people of India and Brazil battling covid.
* Pray that more people receive the vaccine.

Prepare for worship next Sunday, May 23rd, 2021, reading: Acts 2:1-21.
