Intergenerational ministry coordinator needed

Waukesha First United Methodist Church is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic candidate to fill the position of part-time Intergenerational Ministry Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating ministry opportunities with an emphasis on Christian education for all ages.

Position Responsibilities:
  1.  Work with the Minister of Discipleship to integrate children, youth and adults into church-wide discipleship that provides the tools and skills necessary to live a life of faith.
  1. Give oversight to the ministries of Christian education.  This includes:
    • Recruit, schedule and equip teachers and other volunteers.
    • Provide families in-person & digital resources.
    • Communicate with children, youth, and adults using a variety of platforms.
    • Order and assemble supplies as needed. 
    • Communicate with the congregation as an advocate for intergenerational ministry.
    • Implement the Safe Sanctuaries Policy, which includes maintaining records of  
       background checks of volunteers, registration, and permission forms of participants.
3. Coordinate nursery supervision including hiring and scheduling staff.
4.   Provide mission opportunities within and outside the community for youth and families and
               coordinate efforts.
5.    Attend church services, staff meetings and other relevant events.
6.    Engage participants using social media.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Desire to grow in faith
  2. Experience in instructional leadership and leading teams
  3. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  4. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate and delegate tasks
  5. Ability to be present Sundays and relevant evenings (ex. - programs and meetings)
  6. Ability to use standard office equipment and software
  7. Experience with digital media software and applications
  8. Experience with social media

Goals:   Coordinate the administrative needs and support volunteers and teams for children, youth, and adult educational ministries.  Develop, implement, and maintain digital communication to enhance this ministry.

Hours:  Exempt/Part Time, 20 hours per week. This position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. It is recognized that the schedule may vary at different times of the year.

Position Relationships:  Reports to the Minister of Discipleship. This person collaborates with teachers, mentors, volunteers, parents, staff, and the digital ministry team.
