Our 2018 Stewardship Campaign, Lost in Wonder, Love and Praise revealed some awesome reasons people chose to invest their time, talent, gifts, service and witness with FUMC.  Come check out the great things we are doing within the walls and outside in the community.

Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Waukesha!

The members, friends and staff of FUMC look forward to welcoming you into this community of faith. We invite you to join us for any of the worship services or classes we offer as a way to get to know us better as you seek your place in a community of faith. You are welcome to join us in worship and classes as we bring our diverse backgrounds and experiences to bear upon our ongoing search for lives of greater balance and spiritual growth.

When you arrive at First United Methodist Church, located at 121 Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Waukesha, we would invite you to park in the parking lots located off of Wisconsin Avenue or Park Street. Additional parking is available on Sunday mornings as marked on the area map. Handicap Parking is available in the North lot,  and an elevator is available to the right upon entering the North Entrance.

As you enter the building through the North or West Entrances on Sunday morning, you will be greeted by members of our hospitality team. These greeters are available to answer your questions and help you find your way in our building. You will also find plenty of people sharing conversations in the hallways before worship begins.  Please, just ask anyone for help should you feel confused or uncertain.

Our staffed Nursery is located on the main level, near the West Entrance, in Room 221. The Hospitality Center brochure rack is on the wall across from the nursery.  There you will find brochures, directories, and other information for you to take home and look at.

As you enter the sanctuary for worship, an usher will give you a copy of the bulletin and announcements for the week. The bulletin will provide the order of the worship service, including the songs and written prayers that will be shared that morning.

In the announcements, you will find a variety of information about upcoming events and ministry opportunities. Feel free to find a place to sit where you will feel comfortable, or ask an usher to seat you. You should also find a Welcome Packet in the pews.  This may help answer more of your questions.  You are invited to take it home with you to read more about FUMC.

As the music plays, we invite you into a time of reflection as we prepare ourselves for worship. More information about our worship services can be found on the worship page.

Please join us for coffee and treats between the worship services from 10:00-10:30 am in the Asbury Room directly outside of the sanctuary.  If someone does not spot you as a visitor and initiate a welcoming conversation, we hope you’ll be brave enough to approach a friendly face and introduce yourself!  Person-to-person connection is highly valued at FUMC, and Asbury Room conversations are a great way to meet new people and learn more about this congregation. If you have a child who tried our Sunday School during the service, you are asked to pick them up from the classrooms on the lower level. Please ask for any assistance you might need in finding your way around!

We know that the church is an important institution in the lives of many, especially at significant transition points in life. If you are interested in having a wedding at FUMC, please contact our Wedding Coordinator. If you would like to learn more about having a baptism at FUMC, please contact Rev. Dan Schwerin or Rev. Greta Hietpas.
